L2D 100–120Vac Class 2 LED Drivers

FAHOLD L2D 100–120Vac Class 2 LED drivers are designed for North American architectural, commercial and low-voltage lighting projects using compatible wall-dimming systems. The series provides 12V and 24V constant-voltage outputs in an integrated metal enclosure with a junction box.

Choose from three electrical configurations: 60W at 12V, 60W at 24V and 96W at 24V. Type B versions support compatible TRIAC, ELV and MLV phase-cut dimming, while Type N versions provide non-dimmable operation.

Compare the models below by output voltage, wattage, current and control requirements. FAHOLD supports technical model selection, dimmer compatibility review, samples and OEM quotations.

Input note: L2D is rated for 100–120Vac input, with a listed extreme input range of 90–132Vac. Projects requiring 208V, 240V or 277V input should use a compatible wider-input driver platform.

L2D 100–120Vac Class 2 LED Drivers for North American Lighting

The FAHOLD L2D Series provides constant-voltage LED power for North American architectural, commercial and low-voltage lighting projects. The product family includes 12V and 24V output configurations, an integrated metal enclosure with junction box, and dimmable or non-dimmable versions.

L2D is designed around a 100–120Vac rated input platform, with a listed extreme input range of 90–132Vac. It is intended for compatible nominal 120V lighting circuits rather than 208V, 240V or 277V supply systems.

Compare 12V and 24V L2D Models

ModelRated OutputTypical Selection
L2D-060X-01212V / 5A / 60W12V LED strips, cabinet and display lighting
L2D-060X-02424V / 2.5A / 60WLower-power 24V LED strips and linear lighting
L2D-100X-02424V / 4A / 96WHigher-load 24V architectural lighting

The first selection step is matching the driver output voltage to the connected LED load. Next, calculate the total connected wattage and current, confirm the dimming requirement, and check the available installation space.

The 100W model designation associated with L2D-100X-024 does not mean that 100W is available at the output. Its listed maximum output is 96W at 24V / 4A.

Type B vs. Type N: Select the Correct Control Configuration

The L2D family offers two control configurations:

  • Type B — Dimmable: designed for compatible TRIAC, ELV and MLV phase-cut wall dimmers.
  • Type N — Non-dimmable: provides fixed-output operation without external phase-cut dimming.

If the lighting project requires wall-dimmer control, specify Type B when requesting a quotation. Do not assume that every product configuration is dimmable solely because it belongs to the L2D family.

Phase-cut compatibility depends on the driver configuration, dimmer model, connected LED load and wiring conditions. For projects requiring reliable low-end dimming, confirm the actual driver–dimmer combination before final approval.

Integrated Junction Box for Architectural Lighting

The L2D platform integrates the power supply and junction box into a metal enclosure, providing a structured location for mains input and low-voltage connections.

This design can be relevant to cabinet lighting, architectural coves, display lighting, millwork and linear LED fixtures where an enclosed power supply is required.

L2D is intended for specified dry and damp installation environments. It should not be treated as an IP67 waterproof driver for exposed wet-location installations.

When to Choose L2D Instead of a 5-in-1 Driver

L2D is a focused option for projects using a nominal 120Vac supply and compatible TRIAC, ELV or MLV phase-cut wall dimmers with 12V or 24V constant-voltage LED loads.

For projects requiring broader input-voltage coverage or different control interfaces, compare the FAHOLD 5-in-1 Dimmable LED Driver range. The exact input rating and supported dimming configuration must be verified for the selected model.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What input voltage do FAHOLD L2D LED drivers support?

L2D models are rated for 100–120Vac input, with a listed extreme input range of 90–132Vac. They are intended primarily for compatible North American nominal 120V lighting circuits, not direct 208V, 240V or 277V operation.

2. What is the difference between Type B and Type N L2D drivers?

Type B is the dimmable configuration designed for compatible TRIAC, ELV and MLV phase-cut dimmers. Type N provides non-dimmable fixed-output operation. Specify the required configuration before ordering.

3. Which L2D model should I choose for a 24V LED strip?

The 60W 24V model provides a rated output of 24V / 2.5A, while the 96W model provides 24V / 4A. Select the model according to the connected LED load and current requirements, and verify dimmer compatibility if Type B is required.

4. Can L2D operate with every TRIAC, ELV or MLV wall dimmer?

No. Compatibility depends on the exact dimmer, driver configuration, LED load and wiring conditions. Provide the dimmer brand and model for technical review, especially when low-end dimming performance is important.

5. Can FAHOLD provide samples and OEM quotations for L2D drivers?

Yes. FAHOLD supports technical model matching, sample evaluation and OEM/ODM project inquiries. Submit your electrical specifications, dimmer requirements, estimated quantity and installation conditions to request suitable configurations and a quotation.
